Frequent Questions

Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section, where we aim to address your queries and provide valuable insights about your upcoming experience at Hookpit Farm. Here, we’ve compiled a list of the most common questions guests have asked over time.

Hookpit Farm is situated 3 miles north of Winchester.  The campsite is newly built and located alongside the working farm, offering magnificent views and shelter from the north wind.

The surrounding fields on the rolling Hampshire Downs follow an arable rotation of Malting Barley, Wheat, Oilseed Rape, and Forage Maze. A short walk away from the Caravan Site, there are many footpaths and walks through the farm itself.

The local area has many attractions and provides convenient access to Winchester, Portsmouth, Salisbury, and the New Forest, making it an ideal stopover before crossing the channel.

Each pitch is equipped with a 16amp electrical hookup and water supply. We provide a grey water disposal outlet and a discreet chemical toilet disposal facility. Please note that we currently do not have a shower/toilet block available on-site.

All pitches at Hookpit Farm Caravan site are hard standing.  The site is mostly level, with a slight gradient for drainage. Levelling blocks are not required but might be helpful during the winter months with the possibility of softer ground.

There are no restrictions on the size of units at our site. The entrance to the site is set back from the road, allowing safe access for cars and caravans/motorhomes.

Currently, our caravan site does not have facilities for tents. We primarily cater to caravan and motorhome campers. However, we are constantly evaluating options to accommodate tent campers in the future.
